OCTOBER ... YEAR XX25

      You were invited to a Halloween Extravaganza, hosted by an eccentric family that lives on a remote island within the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean. The family itself is both famous and mysterious as many people recognize the name but know nothing substantial about them. Who are the Evergreens? How did they come into such a position worldwide to be known by all?

      Truth be told, it's common to say that you know that they exist and that's about it. Though, for the past 25 years, the Evergreens have been hosting elaborate gatherings where they invite a select group of people to join them and stay on their island. Sometimes it's only for a few days; other times it's up to a week. Their motivations are unknown but people who attend always return with an assortment of prizes or money. Maybe even both. How they acquire these is yet another mystery to add onto the list. It's rumored that the gatherings have various activities or competitions that the attendees can participate in. However, because of the fact that these events are not allowed to be recorded in any format besides harmless group photos— the details are uncertain. The only stories shared are ones from past participants which don't always line up. The truth is malleable.

      The parties are never held on the same day as any of the previous years, making it difficult to predict, and the arrangement of guests invited seems to be entirely random. At least, there hasn't been a noticeable pattern thus far. There's many different reasons that someone would end up with an invitation in their hand. Invitations can be purposely sought out. Maybe you had a way to directly contact one of the Evergreens? Maybe you've done something on a grand scale to ensure that you were noticed? Was it won through a lottery? Invitations can also be received purely by chance. Perhaps it showed up in your mailbox one day with nothing to prompt it.
